Led by committed, professional after school leaders, YMCA after school programs provide a safe and fun learning environment for your kids. The Y offers licensed after school programs to support families with active lifestyles. All of our sites are conveniently located on school campuses, licensed through the State of California and accredited through the YMCA of the USA. Our programs teach youth the foundational skills needed to develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance while getting additional academic support to ensure future success.

Frequently Asked Questions

In light of Covid-19, what kinds of precautions are you taking to keep my child safe and healthy?

Our procedures are informed by the Department of Public Health, Department of Social Services and County Office of Education orders and guidance. The procedures below have been in place at essential employee childcare sites for 10+ weeks, keeping youth and families safe. 

  • Staff and children’s temperature is taken at the beginning of the program
  • Families are not allowed to enter facilities, sign in/out will take place outside
  • Children wash hands at the beginning and during the program several times
  • Regular sanitizing and cleaning occurs immediately after use.
  • Materials and equipment are not shared unless they can be sanitized between usage
  • Restrooms are cleaned after each usage
  • Increased cleaning materials 
  • Increased hand washing for all staff and children
  • Environments to promote social distancing
  • Face coverings are used when county regulations require it

• Adhering to rigorous sanitation practices
• Ensuring our cleaning service remains up to date on latest guidelines
• Educating staff on the prevention and spread of all germs
• Prepared to quickly evolve plans to align with health agency updates

 

Are there any benefits for Y members?

With a Y Membership, you have membership privileges and access to our facility, including our fitness center, group exercise classes, lap and recreational swimming, and Kids Club (care for your child while you’re at the Y). You also get reduced fees for some programs.

Does the Y provide financial assistance?

YMCA memberships and programs are open to everyone. Scholarships are made available through generous Annual Campaign contributions. Individuals and families may apply for scholarships toward YMCA memberships and programs. YMCA of Silicon Valley is a non-profit organization.
